The Union Parishad was the only union with the present number two Ali Durgapur and 13 Mouja of Algi Durgapur (R) Union Parishad. In the year 1959, after issuing the basic democracy order, the Algi Durgapur (U) union was formed in 7 mouzas. Algi Durgpur (R) Union Parishad is formed with the remaining 6 mouzas. People of this union are devoted to the public peace and law and order. For the freedom struggle of 1971, this union played an important role in the independence of the people.
