Physical infrastructure
Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under local government department, provides technical assistance to local government institutions, development and maintenance of rural and urban infrastructure including development of small water resources, and contributing significantly to the socio-economic conditions of the society and to create employment opportunities. . There was a time when the rural infrastructure in Bangladesh was extremely vulnerable. Today, there has been a revolutionary change in the rural communication of the country through extensive development activities through LGED. Increasing the marketing and transportation facilities of the country's crops and products has been ensured and fair prices are being ensured. LGED also played an important role in implementing the National Program for the protection of environment and poverty alleviation. LGED is implementing various projects and programs across the country with the help of the Bangladesh government's own financing and development partner organization.

The activities of LGED are mainly divided into three parts:

1. Development of Rural Infrastructure

2. Urban Infrastructure Development

3. Small water resources development


Short operation details:

· Preparation, implementation and monitoring of plans for development of infrastructure in rural and urban areas;

· Rural infrastructure maintenance

· Preparation, implementation and monitoring of Growthcenter / Hathbazar development

· Provide technical assistance to the union, upazila, zila parishad and municipality

· Preparation of database of planbooks, mapping and roads and social infrastructure for union, upazila and municipality;

· Small water resources development planning, implementation and monitoring

Implementation and monitoring of Infrastructure Development Programs of various ministries

· Training in relevant development activities of the people's representatives, beneficiaries, contractors, contract workers

· Formulation of design and other technical models, manual and specification

. Skill enhancement by training of LGED officials / employees

Geographic Location:
East of No 2, Algi Durgapur (UP) Union Gobindpur Union, Faridganj, Chandpur on the east side of union.

Meghna river on the western side of the Aligarh Durgapur (UP) union of West ̶2.
